3 Ways to Quickly Build a New, Profitable Business with WordPress
As with all things in life, whether you are starting a business, publishing a book or writing a blog; success at hitting the bullseye tend to be a Numbers game.
It is like one of those carnival games where you throw darts at a target.
For most people, they will try throwing a few times. Most will miss and give up. A few would hit the target and get a small prize.
For those who understand the Numbers Game, they will try throwing as many as they can. Optimizing his/her chances of hitting the bullseye. The same sort of psyche of those who buy lottery tickets. (except the odds of striking it rich buying a lottery ticket is worst than getting hit by lightning)
For those trying to start a brick and mortar business, most can only afford one throw. Most miss. A few hit the target and get a small prize. A very few hit the center bullseye and get a bigger prize. Rags to riches!
The difference for those publishing a book or a blog is; they can afford many throws! If they want to, they can try over and over and over again until they hit some milestone or progress and feel good about themselves. Some keep going until one day they hit the center bullseye.
Many might think it is simply luck or a secret sauce to it when in reality it's simply a matter of the number of iterations you attempted (trial and error).
WordPress powers more than 43% of all websites on the internet.
With an excellent reputation and loyal user base, It’s arguably the most reliable way to start and run a business on the internet. I use WordPress to express my interests and refine what I learnt.
I think it makes sense for most people to build a website or blog on this platform.
Creating a business around WordPress has never been easier, and getting a new business, or new line of business, started can be remarkably straightforward.
Running a WordPress blog have given me a lot of reasons to smile, but a particular favorite of mine is when people tell me that we helped them not just in making money, but creating a whole new outlet for personal expression.
You don’t have to be a designer or a programmer, though obviously that helps. Being a semi-experienced user like myself can be sufficient to get started, especially with the incredibly easy to use plugins, tools and themes out there today.
Your Two-Minute Cheat Sheet
Don’t have enough time to go through the whole article? Here’s your quick cheat sheet.
While you have several web hosting provider options available, I recommend starting your WordPress website journey with Hostinger. It’s super dependable, offers fast loading times, accepts bitcoin and is good for your budget.
Just click here to head over to Hostinger, select the WordPress Starter package, and then Hostinger’s setup wizard will take care of much of the rest.
Towards the end of the guided setup process, you’ll be able to secure your free domain name (included with your Hostinger WordPress Starter plan). Just make sure to opt for WHOIS privacy when you’re given the option after selecting your domain.
Normally you’d have to install WordPress next, but Hostinger has already done that for you. Familiarize yourself with how everything is set up and pick a theme for your website that suits your brand.
My favorite is place for new and striking themes is ThemeForest, but you can also stick to WordPress’s official directory.
Make sure you set your permalink structure to make your links more readable and optimized for the SERPs. This is super important, so please don’t skip it. You can also install plugins to extend your website’s abilities, but it’s strictly optional.
Finally, all that’s left to do is create fantastic content that makes visitors flock to your website.
Voila! You now have a WordPress website that looks beautiful, has amazing content, and is ready to handle the traffic.
Recommend Products & Platforms You Love
One of the main ways people get started making money not just using WordPress but because of WordPress is being an affiliate of the products that you like and trust.
Simply write about things that you find interesting and beneficial and link to the appropriate websites and sales pages using the link provided by the affiliate program.
For example, I wrote this article about p2p bitcoin exchanges, and signed up as an affiliate for Paxful; it generates a couple of hundred dollars each month on autopilot. Just one of the many passive income streams I have setup over the years.

Avoid recommending things that you are not 100% sure you can stand behind because your reputation is very easily burned by suggesting your audience buys something that turns out to be no good.
Finding More Affiliate Deals
Some companies run their own affiliate program in-house, look for their affiliate program usually in their website footer or search on Google for the company name and “affiliate program”.
Others will use a third-party tool such as Share-A-Sale. The latter make it even easier to find new programs to support because those services list the companies and products that they work with.
Growing with Affiliates
This technique is quick and easy to add, doesn’t add much if anything to your daily workload, and can grow as you write more about those topics, add a resource page to your site, and even add links into your email auto-responder follow up sequence.
Adding an affiliate stream of income is especially beneficial for anyone who already has an audience, of course.
What if you don’t have an audience and are really starting from zero?
Build and Improve WordPress Websites for Money
You can start a website building and renovation business with only the basic experience and without an audience if you are willing to knock on doors (virtual or otherwise) and call in favors from your network for opportunities.
Heck, once people find out you have this knowledge you will probably get asked to do this as a favor!
Step-by-Step:
Build your own Website, use that as your case study.
Talk to existing business owners in your area or network and find someone, anyone willing to give you a chance.
Clone your website or build them a website from scratch, adding their logo, content, and colors.
Even if you don’t get directly paid for the work at this stage, you possibly can still earn from affiliate commissions for the hosting, the themes and the plugins used.
Get testimonials and referrals to bring in more work.
Growing Your Builder Business
Once you have a baseline of income, you have testimonials and case studies, and start to build a positive reputation, things get easier.
As you build up your network and client base, then you can do less outbound sales and even start to put your prices up!
It doesn’t end at creating new sites for people. People with WordPress websites have all kinds of additional needs over time, from migrating sites from one host to another, clearing off damage caused by hacks, through to installing new themes and plugins.
In fact, one of the main ways I used to attract new customers was through people paying me for critiques – IE. they would pay me to tell them what was wrong with their website and how to improve it!
Recurring Income
You don’t have to stop with one-off projects. If you work it right, your clients can become loyal, long-term customers.
Once a business has a website they might be interested in your monthly maintenance plans, social media management services, content creation, SEO, analytics reporting …
Passive Income
Bottom Line
With WordPress rapidly approaching half of the world wide web, and so many helpful tools available, there has never been a better time to earn some income or build additional passive income streams in a highly inflationary world.
If you have an itch to start a business, or if your existing business could do with a revenue boost, I hope these three ideas help you succeed!
To your freedom,
Winson
